To help you get started, below are four route suggestions that work well when staying at – or near – Feriecenter Slettestrand.

Gravel Slettestrand – your base for exciting gravel routes in North Jutland

The area around Slettestrand offers a fantastic network of routes for you to explore with your gravel bike.

Starting from Feriecenter Slettestrand, you’ll have almost endless opportunities to explore the fantastic nature by the North Sea and towards the Limfjord. Look forward to experiencing an impressive variety – both in the selection of gravel routes and in the magnificent nature you encounter along the way.

Esben’s Slettestrand tour

30 km around Slettestrand in very varied nature. There is a bit of asphalt on small roads after 10 km, but otherwise expect several types of gravel roads and terrain. You can also look forward to a few nasty climbs!

Bakery stop in Blokhus

There are days when the only right thing to do is to drive 50 km after a tall snail, which is eaten while driving on the beach towards Slettestrand again.

When driving on the beach, you might see a flashing light in the dunes at Rødhus. This means that the military is shooting. Just drive away from the beach at Rødhus and follow the exit or a variation of it until you pass it.

Coastal track

158 km! The coastal trail is an old idea of Esben’s from 2010. The idea was originally a simple, long trail along the coast.

By the time it was realized 10 years later by Jammerbugt Municipality with the support of a broad partnership, the idea had evolved into a pretty good gravel trail. So for once, the track is marked and you don’t have to sit with your nose in the screen to find your way.
