Peace and quiet in natural surroundings

The nature around Slettestrand offers a wide variety of walking routes in Svinkløv Plantation, along the coast and through the countryside. If you prefer to explore the area by bike, we can offer you discounted rates on mountain bike rental – and we are happy to help you plan a suitable route. You can also visit the many galleries in the area or just relax and recharge in your holiday apartment.

As a resident guest, you get free access to all our facilities, including the lovely warm-water swimming pool and sauna. You are also welcome to take part in yoga and aqua gymnastics classes, when available.

Just leave the cooking to us

Your stay includes all meals from the evening meal on your arrival day to breakfast on the day of your departure – good, honest food made from scratch using the best local and seasonal produce.

If you have any special dietary requirements, we will always do our best to meet them.

Apartments with a focus on accessibility

At Feriecenter Slettestrand we have both holiday apartments and handicap apartments with full accessibility. All apartments have 2-3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, dining/living room and private balcony/terrace. We also offer free loan of a number of assistive devices should you need them.

If you are a Danish resident and get home help visits, it is possible to have the service transferred to Jammerbugt Municipality during your convalescence stay.

The board of the 1870 Foundation meets once a year and awards grants. Applications must be received by the 15th March each year in order to be considered for that year’s award. In addition, all applications must be accompanied by a diagnosis from a doctor describing the scholarship applicant’s illness. No support will be granted for stays that have already taken place.

Good to know about convalescence breaks

  • The stay can be booked from the start of February to the end of November, except during school holidays and public holidays where the holiday centre is buzzing with children and holiday guests.
  • It is the guest’s own responsibility to apply for grants, receive the funds and ensure that the stay is held accordingly.
