Sustainability in the swimming pool

Havbadehuset is designed with sustainability and accessibility in mind.

When the building was built in 2018, the heat pumps and insulation met the time’s highest energy standard and we used the leading water-cleansing technology.

We use plant-based cleaning products that are 100 % bio-compostable and are certified with both the Nordic Swan and the EU-flower Ecolabels.

Bathing rules in Havbadehuset Slettestrand

For the sake of water quality*, it is important that the following bathing rules are observed:

  • The pool is only accessible after a thorough soap wash WITHOUT swimwear – to be repeated after toilet visits. Hair must also be washed with soap BEFORE bathing to remove residual hair products. If you do not wash your hair, you must use a shower cap.
  • In the sauna, everyone must sit on a dry and clean towel.
  • After using the sauna, rinse off before entering the pool again – showers are available next to the sauna.
  • Children and others who aren’t potty trained must wear a swimming nappy (available for purchase in reception).
  • If you suffer from an infectious disease, there is unfortunately no access to the pool or sauna.
  • Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Larger groups of young people only have access with a leader.
  • No diving or “bombs” and no ball games.
  • There is no lifeguard. All use of the pool and sauna is at your own risk.

* The water quality is measured 3 times a day and if the numbers are measured higher than allowed according to rules from the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, the pool will be closed until the water quality is restored.

Other useful info before the visit
