Sustainability – conscious choices for people and the environment

Sustainability means a lot to us here in Slettestrand. We want to take good care of people, the environment, and the beautiful nature that surrounds us – in every decision we make. From the big things like strategy and purchasing, to everyday habits like sorting our waste and menu planning.

For us, it’s all about making conscious choices – and committing to work on it and improve every single day.

Did you know that?

Our family bought Feriecenter Slettestrand in 1999 with a dream of creating a holiday destination centrered around nature, community and accessibility.

Sustainability in Slettestrand – from strategy to action

Our sustainability strategy helps to define where we want to go, based on our vision of a modern and inclusive holiday centre. It details all the actions we have already taken and our goals for the future.

We’ve chosen to make it freely available to everyone, in the hope that it can raise awareness, show what can be done and inspire others to take action.

Sustainable Development Goals

Since 2019, we have used the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals to guide us in our work with sustainability, and all the actions we take are based on these goals and targets.

Below you can see the four overall goals that best describe the primary focus and motivation for our work with sustainability.
